This Fall marked the inaugural season of our soccer team, KipsUnited F.C. KipsUnited was started by Jaime Hasama, a member of our Customer Partnership team and it has been a great way for Kipsu team members to get to know each other outside of the office.
What inspired you to start a soccer team? Playing on our kickball team was one of the best activities that I joined when starting at Kipsu this past Spring. It was high energy, so much fun, and an amazing way for me to get to know my coworkers. When our kickball season ended, I wanted to have another sport for us to participate in, so I thought of starting a soccer team!
What’s your favorite part about being a coach? I love soccer and played at the collegiate and international level so I enjoyed sharing my passion for the game with my coworkers. Many of our teammates had never played soccer before so seeing how much fun they had made me overwhelmingly happy. It was also really cool that about half of our team was made up of Kipsuvians who had been at the company for a few years and the other half were people who had just started within the past couple months. Our soccer team had members from across all different Kipsu teams and it was a great way for us to get to know coworkers from different areas of the office. Overall, KipsUnited was the highlight of my Fall!
What was your biggest surprise during the season? How much we all improved as individuals and together as a team! Seeing the progress that people made from the first game of the season to the last was such a special experience and I’m so grateful to have been a part of that. We also learned a lot about each other as players and people. As the season went on, we started to understand each other’s strengths and weaknesses on the field and eventually figured out the best ways were to set each other up for success.

Drew “Leading Goal Scorer” Anunti: “Every single second! We may not have won the championship but we led the league in fun!”
Adom “The Enforcer” Mills Robertson: “Seeing Deepak play. He came out as Kipsu’s secret weapon on the pitch. Setting up assists and even netting goals from his vantage point on the left wing.”
Deepak “Secret Weapon” Shah: “I enjoyed watching people who I work with at Kipsu score goals and get to know one another outside of work! Winning together and losing together were all great things.”
Kaeli “#1 Cheerleader” Froio: “I loved seeing how much fun everyone was having and how much the team improved. Even though it was chilly watching from the sideline, every smile I saw made it worth it!”
Hannah “the Quiet Storm” Stoker: “I loved how the often less than perfect weather conditions didn’t phase us at all. The entire team embraced the pouring rain and freezing cold with a positive attitude and several layers!”
